About Baltic and plastic

Artists: Jacek Wielebski, Blanka Byrwa
Curator: Sasha Krolikova
Sopot, Goyki 3 Art Inkubator

A lightbox installation created from plastic waste collected on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Bottle caps, wrappers, cigarette butts, plastic straws and polyethylene became part of a new object that memorializes the polluted landscape. Each element in the installation resembles a sea creature or a letter from an extraterrestrial alphabet. The lightbox has been installed at the Goyki3 Art Inkubator, in a location originally designed as a garbage container.
